Reflecting on 2018…

I am excited to do this post and I thought I’d do a yearly round up by reflecting on 2018. It was good year and I am excited about what is to come in 2019. There had been a few ups and downs but I enjoyed myself and have done some great things and made some new friends!

At the beginning of 2018 I was doing the same old thing and was still struggling with my anxiety and then something changed in April and I was back to myself for the first time in a few years. My anxiety decreased a lot which I am very happy about as it was one of my 2018 goals, although it won’t just go away I now am able to go out all the time with my friends and have plans every weekend which I stopped having. I have become slightly a bit more independent.

One of my goals for 2018 was to go on more than 1 holiday which I have achieved. I went to Malia beginning of September for a girls holiday which was SO out of my comfort zone, but I did it and had a great time! I’m not sure if I would do it again haha but it was something I really wanted to do. I then took my Mum on holiday to Lanzarote in November which was so much fun. I have a post about it here.

Another one of my goals for 2018 was to improve my blog. That totally failed! I totally lost motivation towards the middle of the year. I lost a lot of followers on Instagram as I just stopped posting. I hopefully can get better at it in 2019 and improve on my photography!

I made a few new friends in 2018 which hopefully I am friends with for life! I have realised how important friends are! I now am happy with my circle and count on my friends to cheer me up and give me the support I need!

This is a really weird thing to mention on my blog, but I wanted to include it anyway. I went to an oral/maxfax outpatients appointment and found out I have TMJ disorder. More info here. Last year I started getting a clicky jaw but it got worse this year and my jaw hurts a lot. My jaw never stops clicking so I am waiting to have a mouth guard made to wear at night which will hopefully help with the pain and reduce the clicking so I have that to look forward to in 2019 lol!

2019 goals

In 2019 I hopefully will be able to go on holiday more than once again! Also I hope that I can start driving, I have just applied for a provisional license. I have been too scared to do it but I need to give it a try- and if I do not like it I can always try again in the future. It would really help with my independence. I am really nervous though, I already panic as a passenger and sometimes in situations I’m like if I was on my own I would not know what to do! Another goal is to keep on blogging and do what makes me happy instead of feeling like I have to be like everyone else. I also hope to eat better. I have been eating so unhealthy at the moment and it definitely is not good for my stomach! I am not setting too many goals, that is it for now. I do not want to be too unrealistic.

Overall, reflecting on 2018, it was a good year with work and my personal life. Work has been good recently and I have become much more confident and have got so much more experience. I am looking forward to more exciting things in 2019! What exciting things did you get up to in 2018 and what goals are you setting for 2019 ? Thanks for reading! X

I’m so pleased you got to complete multiple 2018 goals! It’s a good feeling isn’t it? Also, it’s amazing to hear your anxiety has decreased throughout the year, unless people suffer with it, it’s an unexplainable feeling. I hope 2019 is an EVEN better year for you and you get to complete even more goals.

Sending tons of love & hugs,

It sounds like you did so well with your 2018 goals, I’m so happy for you! Good luck with your goals for 2019 too! I was a nervous driver as well, I was having lessons on and off for a year and then a solid year of lessons before I felt confident enough to take my test. The only thing I can recommend is take your time and make sure you have an instructor that is good with nervous drivers xx
