I used to struggle with making my makeup last all day before I started using powders from MAC. Now I don’t have to worry about touching up a million times a day. I like my makeup to last 8 hours so that I don’t have to worry when I am on a day/night out or when I am at work.
I use the MAC Studio Fix Foundation Powder Plus to set my whole face. I use the shade NC30. This powder adds a tiny bit of colour and coverage. I am not a fan of the white cast translucent powders leave, so if you don’t like that either this powder is great. I use the B. finishing brush which picks up just enough product. I do not use this powder with a fluffy or dense brush so I avoid looking cakey. I love how it makes my skin look natural and you cannot see a face full of powder. The powder doesn’t allow my foundation to separate like others have done in the past. I only need to touch up my T-Zone once in 8 hours around lunch time, and I usually apply my makeup at 7am when I am getting ready for work. The product lasts a long time which is why I can justify the price of £24.50 as well as it making my makeup last all day.
I use the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Powder which costs around the same amount. I like this powder as again it doesn’t leave a white cast. I use the light shade to set under my eyes. The powder sets and keeps my concealer on all day. I also use it to set concealer on my eyelids as a shadow base and it does help my shadow to last longer. I use this powder with a small powder brush and it looks natural also.
So these are the two powders that I use to make my makeup last all day. I know they are expensive but I find them totally worth it. I can’t imagine using any other powder. I can count on these powders every time as I know my makeup is not going to slip off- especially in the warmer weather.
