I purchased the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion ultra-longwear concealer, after watching Holly Boon on youtube. She totally sold the concealer to me and I am loving her videos at the moment! The concealer promises to give seamless coverage, flawless wear whilst being weightless at the same time. The concealer claims to not crease which is quite a big claim to make in my opinion! Whilst proving all that it is also supposed to have a natural finish, be hydrating and cover darkness, imperfections, smooth fine lines and give a soft effect. Oh and also last 12 hours by being transfer, sweat and water resistant? Well doesn’t that sound like the best concealer ever?…
The Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion concealer comes in 12 shades which is good but I think there is room for improvement. The concealer costs £24 which I think is super pricey! I paid £20.40 for the concealer as it was on promotion at John Lewis which made me buy it straight away. I think I could maybe justify the £24 more if the packaging was nice. As you can see the concealer is very plain and it doesn’t look or feel luxurious. I have cheaper concealers that are also amazing and have pretty and expensive looking packaging…
I really like the applicator of the concealer. The doe foot applicator is thin and flat which makes it easier to fit and apply under the eye. The applicator doesn’t place too much product under the eye. I tend to put too much concealer under my eyes after watching youtubers do it but a little goes a long way with this concealer, as it does what I want it to do with less product. I do not like a very cake eye so I was attracted to the concealer as it gives a more natural look.
I have the shade 2W which gives me a lot of brightness. If you wear fake tan and want a foundation to match which doesn’t make you look super white under the eyes, this is lovely as it has the right colour for brightness. I’ve made the mistake before of using my light concealers when wearing fake tan as I look crazy with a tanned face and white under eyes haha!
The concealer blends out flawlessly. It definitely is seamless and that is the claim that I absolutely agree with. The concealer has good coverage for me and I cannot feel it on my skin. Whilst brightening up my eye and defusing my darkness the concealer looks super natural as there is no cakey business. The concealer will be perfect for people who love no makeup, makeup days as well as those who love full on glam!
I have tried the concealer with a sponge as well as a brush. I used to be a brush lover, but I have loved using a sponge recently. For the first week of using the concealer I used a sponge but I felt my under eyes didn’t look that great as it did settle into my lines and crease. However, when I buffed the concealer in with a brush, it didn’t settle into my lines or crease as much. I do expect every concealer to crease despite any claims. I feel that this concealer has better lasting power with a brush which is surprising.
If you have tried the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion concealer I’d love to know what you think. I am going to hate the day where I have to repurchase this concealer as it is so expensive! I have included the concealer in my March Favourites here. Thanks for reading!
