Dermalogica Skin Care Review

Dermalogica is a new brand to me so I tried these products out without reading any reviews etc. From my first impressions of the brand and what I’ve read on their website I believe this brand is all about improving your skin problems. It seems they have products for every skin type whether it be, dry, oily, acne prone, sensitive etc. The website mentioned these products are not made for luxury, but for treating your skin. You can see this from the packaging, it doesn’t have any kind of luxurious feel, but you can see it is going to get the job done.

I have been using these products for a couple of weeks now and I have tested them all out and have some kind of conclusion. I have a love/hate relationship with skincare. Sometimes I’m like wow this has made my skin look amazing, and other times I’m like, my skin would have looked better using a makeup wipe and some face wash… You can see here how basic my skincare routine is, there is no expensive products and my skin is always clear.

So here I have the pre cleanse balm, cleansing gel, daily superfoliant and a moisturiser. I feel like I have everything to give my skin a proper cleanse, to feel clean and fresh. Not going to lie, I have never used a scrub on my face before, so I was excited to see what results I would get.

So, I started off by taking my makeup off with the balm. This smells like a mix of an iced bun and gingerbread haha! But then, I feel like I’m in a spa and the scent turns relaxing. I love the way this feels on my skin. I like the concept of this, but I don’t feel it is really necessary for me. I’d rather use a makeup wipe which is a bad habit…

Next I use the cleaning gel. This gel does feel like I’m rubbing oil all over my face. I really do not like the way this feels on my face for some reason. It does it’s job and my face does feel clean after.

I have SUPER sensitive skin and I thought this would be too harsh for me, but it actually wasn’t. When you pour the product on your hand, I feel like it’s covered in Tenerife sand haha! I use water to turn this into a creamy paste (that sounds disgusting haha) and it doesn’t feel harsh on the skin, and you can tell it’s doing the job. This is easy to wash off as well and doesn’t create a mess. The first time I used it I could tell it worked. All my spots came out and now I have a lovely spotty face haha! I feel like I need to use this all the time to not have a sudden breakout.

I was scared to use this product not going to lie. I have used a moisturiser before that is kind of similar and it made me come out in a rash. Thankfully, this didn’t give me a nasty red rash. My skin does feel smooth but it also does feel more oilier and I don’t know why. I have dry/combination skin. I do get an oily T-Zone but, I feel it’s got worse whilst using these products for some reason.

I really wanted to love Dermalogica but I don’t. I have now got a red, dry, textured mark on my cheek from using this product so that’s lovely thank you… I’m not sure if it’s from the exfoliant or the moisturiser. I just don’t think this brand is for me and my type of skin.

I received these products in a VoxBox from Influenster. I was so lucky to be able to try out these products. Even though these Dermalogica products are not for me, I’m sure people with less sensitive skin would love them. I’m sorry for a negative review, but I have to be honest. Yes I feel that my face is clean but there’s too many things I don’t like!

If you have tried out these products I would love to know your thoughts in the comments. If you have a review on your blog about these Dermalogica products please do leave a link! Thanks for reading!

Everyone raves about Dermalogica but it’s so refreshing to read an honest review. Their products are quite pricey and after reading this, I feel like it’s not worth it x Fab review gal! xx Nikita

Such a shame you didn’t get on well with them, it’s so hard to find skincare perfect for different skin types!

It’s a shame when a product doesn’t work for everyone!

Really appreciate your honest review, lovely! I too have very sensitive skin so perhaps these wouldn’t be the best for me. It takes nothing for my skin to get very irritated! I like to keep my skincare routine quite basic, as well. Your nails look super beautiful, btw! <3 xoxo

I’m a massive fan of Dermalogica. I love their range and their powder exfoliator, eye cream and hydration booster. With skincare we all have different experiences, two people could have the same skin type but it doesn’t guarantee they’ll have the same reaction to a skincare product.
