I’m really into Makeup Revolution at the moment. I don’t know why, but I’ve only just started out using their eyeshadow palettes. I was kindly sent the Life on the Dance Floor ‘Guest List’ eyeshadow palette. I believe these palettes are limited edition, so I’d hurry up and get one now! They have 2 other versions. I have the sparkly pink one which has pink, purple, Burgundy and orange shades. There are also gold and silver ones, with lipsticks to match. I haven’t tried the lipsticks so I really should get some!
The Life on the Dance Floor palette has 24 shades in which is bloody amazing as this palette is only £10. There is not one shade in the palette that I wouldn’t use. Obviously there are ones I’d use more than others. This palette is perfect for day to night as there are natural shades, and more dark deep tones for night. I’m really into these sorts of colours at the moment.
In my opinion, the palette has 14 mattes, only 5 shimmery shades and 5 shades that have a slight sheen to them. The shimmery shades are not really that shimmery though which is annoying. I noticed that some are not what I’d call matte as they have a slight sheen to them but they could probably work in the crease. I just wish there was a super shimmery lid shade in there.
The shadows are soft and buttery. The darker shades do take longer to blend out. I found that it best to use a more dense blending brush and then use a fluffier brush to blend out the edges.
Bottom to top: CHA CHA, SPIN, SLIDE, LOCK IT, JIVE, SHAKE IT
Bottom to top: 2 STEP, LIGHT UP, NEON, GET DOWN, LOOSE, CREW
Bottom to top: HIP, ROLL, 2AM, THROW BACK, BOLD, LOSE IT
Bottom to top: LEAN BACK, GRIND, STOP, DARK CORNER, BLACK LIGHT, SLEEP
I love some of the names of the shades in this palette. The best one has to be ‘sleep’ haha! If I had my own eyeshadow palette I would 100% have to add a colour called sleep… anyone relate?!
The shades on the swatches are very pigmented which impressed me, even the lighter shades. I haven’t used all of them so they might be totally different on the lids! I don’t know if you can tell in the swatches, but the darker colours are a bit more patchy and powdery.
For £10, you can’t really go wrong with the Makeup Revolution Life on the Dance Floor collection. It is perfect for lovers of warm shadow shades, I’m pretty sure you’ll have every warm shade you could want with this palette. It’s also perfect for a gift. You can buy it here.
