This is a good one today as I have finally found a new favourite drugstore foundation! *round of applause* I don’t stop going on about L’Oreal True Match so, I am happy that I have found another foundation to hype about. Even though nothing will come close to True Match I have been wearing the (I believe new) Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour foundation all week now.
I saw this in Superdrug around a month ago and it sat in the pile of makeup products to try. I eventually came round to trying it and wish I used it sooner! I loved this foundation as soon as I put it on. In store, I randomly picked the shade 40 Fawn, as you may know I wear fake tan so I needed a darker shade. I chose this colour for when my tan is lighter for example, when I am wearing a tinted moisturiser or when my normal mousse is wearing off. I couldn’t have picked a better colour! I love how there are no pink tones to this shade, it matches perfectly to my light tan. It isn’t too orange either once blended out.
The foundation claims to be full coverage which I think is accurate. It works well at covering up my redness and my spots. It also claims to last 24 hours which I obviously haven’t tested but it lasts 8 hours on me and I have dry skin, but get an oily T-Zone after around 5-6 hours of wearing makeup. You can definitely feel the foundation on your skin which I can get over. There is no scent though, which is good.
I love the finish of this foundation as it makes your skin look flawless. It is matte which is perfect for those who like that. However, it doesn’t make your face look flat and it looks nice with liquid highlight.
I found that the foundation is very long lasting for me. I can wear this for 8 hours of work and know that my makeup still looks good. I always need to blot my T-Zone during the day which is also the case for this foundation- but if I can’t be bothered to touch up (which is most of the time) it still looks fine.
The foundation costs £9.99 which is the same amount as my favourite by L’Oreal. I think it is worth the money though, as it is a good foundation that has full coverage and lasting power.
Overall, I just love this foundation. The only downside is that it is quite thick, which isn’t something I like. I need to use 2 big pumps to get this to cover my face. I apply it by putting the 2 pumps on my fingers, and applying it with my hands to blend out, and then blend more with a brush. I do this as otherwise I have to use even more product to cover my face. As it’s already thick I don’t want to apply more than I actually need.
I really recommend you try this foundation. If you have tried it or are going to, please let me know your thoughts!
