I never thought I’d get Botox in my life! I thought it was just for lines, wrinkles and face lifting. When people think about Botox they picture the worst… and turn their noses up, but when it’s done right it can look fab! However, I’m not talking about my face… and I hope I never do!
Botox is now used to treat so many things and it’s amazing! It can help excessive sweating, migraines, overactive bladders and much more! I think it’s interesting and more people should look it up!
I have been suffering from excessive sweating for quite some time now. I am fed up of sweating more than others, wearing black and having to wash a top every time I wear it. I can only wear colour (which is not often) if it is something I can’t sweat through or covers up the armpits with bardot overlays and thrills.
I read an article once about a man who had excessive sweating and he mentioned treatment with Botox actually worked for him. Ever since reading, I have done my research, read blogs, watched Youtube videos and have wanted it ever since!
I didn’t know where to get armpit botox from. I looked up all different clinics but I didn’t really feel like travelling to London to get it done. However, it is actually more easily available than I thought. On the off chance I checked whether my local private hospital offers it and to my surprise, they do! So I booked in straight away!
The whole procedure took about half an hour. The women asked the usual, why I wanted it, have I tried different deodorants, how long have I had it for. Then went straight onto the procedure! The needles were sooo tiny and there was 100ml of botox involved. It was injected into the surface of my skin and all I felt was little pricks, nothing too bad. I did have anaesthetic rubbed on before. It’s obviously not pleasant and you could say it felt slightly uncomfortable, but I just got on with it as I wanted to get over with. The women did say I was brave as I didn’t jump or moan like some others do haha!
Obviously everyone is different but, it can take a couple of days to a week to see it working. I did notice a difference after 48 hours. I didn’t sweat as much as I usually do but my armpits were not completely dry. However, after 4 days I can say I do not have excessive sweating right now! I can’t believe it actually works. I kind of thought it wouldn’t work for me and I’d waste £450!
So hopefully it will last 6 months or more. If it does I will definitely keep getting it done. If not, then it’s worth the try! It’s definitely something to invest in if you have insecurities.
